This is the second Pete Cornish Treble Boost designed and built by him from the early 1970s and still in production. It is one of the original versions supplied to Brian May and can be heard on Queen recordings. we are using the same artwork for the circuit board and identical components are sourced from the original suppliers.

Each pedal is individually hand made by Pete, Lynda and Mingus Cornish from the etching of the circuit board through to the testing of the finished unit. No other person is involved in the production and is available in Cornish™ Black or Vintage, unpainted style.

The original use of this unit is between the Guitar and “Normal” input of early Vox AC30s to improve the Tone and Overdrive characteristics by adding some “Dirt” and “Bite” to this low gain type of amp.

The TB-83 EXTRA™ is also a valuable addition to many other guitar/amp combinations.

The bypass footswitch may be used to completely disconnect the TB-83 EXTRA™ from the guitar/amp circuit. The TB-83 EXTRA™ output volume control may be used to reduce the amount of boosted signal, when swithced on, presented to the amp input.

The input to the TB-83 EXTRA™ can be controlled by the guitar volume control so use of the guitar and TB-83 EXTRA™ volume controls together can make a huge difference in performance to suit your application.

The gain before clip point is +36dB (63.2X) and the maximum output of the TB-83 EXTRA™ is 7v P/P (=10dBm). The measured output noise with a 10Kohm sourceinpedance is -82dBm giving a signal to noise ratio of 92dB.

Available in Cornish™ Black or Vintage, unpainted style.
Housed in a Rugged Die-cast box with easy to set Number Knob.
Heavy Duty all-metal footswitch with Hi-Brite LED.
An input for a DC adapter: the size of the connector is 5.5/2.1mm and the centre pin is negative (-VE). The voltage rating of the adapter should be noise free, fully stabilised at 9V DC and capable of supplying 20mA. We recommend the use of the Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2 Plus adapter as meeting the above criteria and cannot accept any liability for damage caused to this unit by the use of, or to, any other type of AC/DC adaptor. An adapter proving an output of an AC voltage should not be used as it will permanently damage the pedal: such damage is not covered under our warranty. If only a single unit is to be powered the BOSS PSA series may be more cost effective and is also recommended; but do not "Daisy Chain" other effects if using this adaptor as this may cause hum problems.

Dimensions: 121 X 66 X 40 mm
