All Stand Alone Pedals receive serial numbers when they are made and I thought it would be helpful, on the rare occasions when these are advertised for sale,  for prospective second owners to be able to date the age and original supplier of the pedal.

All pedals purchased from retail outlets have a letter or letters in front of the number:

The first two numbers following the letter(s) indicate the year of the build and the second two (or three) numbers indicate the pedals sequence in the number of pedals built for that shop in that year.

EXAMPLE:

S/N A/0511 Purchased from Amp Shop/Bass Exchange - built in 2005 and
11th pedal made for Amp Shop in that year.
S/N R/0210  Purchased from Roadie Stuff (not a current dealer) - built
in 2002 and 10th pedal made for Roadie Stuff in that year.

PACIFX LTD ONLY:

S/N P/2312  Purchased in Japan - built 2003 and 12th pedal made for PACIFIX LTD in that year

Please note that each shop or dealer have their own S/N code and the number of pedals built in that year are for that individual shop and not a total of all units built my me in any particular year.

Another group of pedals are those which are built and supplied by me directly to the original purchaser. These are serial numbered  PC/XXXX
- the same date code for the first two numbers (as for the shops) applies in all cases and the second group of two  or three numbers relate to the sequence in the total number of pedals built for direct sale in that year. These pedals are in addition to the shop units.

EXAMPLE:

S/N PC/0602 is the 2nd pedal built, for direct sale, in 2006.

There are a few very early pedals with just numbers and these do not follow the scheme listed above. As all pedals do have serial numbers please enquire if just a number (without letter(s)) appear on the pedal you are considering purchasing.
